About Sarah Murdoch
Sarah Murdoch was born Sarah O'Hare on May 31, 1972 in London England, but grew up in Sydney, Australia. She studied ballet performance at the The McDonald College, a performing arts school in Sydney, but soon switched her focus to directing.
She rose to fame as the Wonderbra model, replacing Eva Herzigova, and appeared in its international ad campaign. She has also appeared in ads for Revlon and Ralph Lauren, and the 1999 and 2003 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues.
In 1999 she married Lachlan Murdoch, the son of the Australian-American media mogul Rupert Murdoch. The couple have two sons, Kalan (2004), and Aidan (2006).
Since her marriage, Murdoch has continued her passion for ballet, and was appointed International Ambassador of the Australian Ballet in 2004. Later, in 2006, she became a director for the Australian Ballet.
Murdoch's other great passion, philanthropy, consumes much of her time. She is involved with many charitable organisations. She is an ambassador for the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute, a patron of the National Breast Cancer Foundation (with which she has been involved since 1997), and a patron of the McDonald Foundation.
