About Melbourne Storm
While only formed in 1998, the Melbourne Storm have certainly made its mark on the rugby league world since it's inception. The team, which is part of the News Limited empire, finished third in their first year, exceeding all expectations after winning the first four games they played.
In their second year, they beat the St George Illawarra Dragons to win the premiership.
In 2006 they won their first minor premiership, winning 20 games and finishing on 44 points for the season - a record for the NRL. They finished second in the major premiership to the Brisbane Broncos.
