About Al Pacino

Al Pacino is best known for his portrayal of Michael Corleone in The Godfather trilogy of films. A stalwart of Hollywood elite, Pacino has starred in over 40 films. His acting experience spans stage and screen - with recognition for his achievements in both coming in the form of Academy Awards (Oscar) and Tony Awards. Surprisingly, his first Academy Award did not come until twenty-one years after his first nomination.

Pacino is one of an elite group of just 10 actors who have been nominated for both a Best Actor/Actress and Best Supporting Actor/Actress in the same year when he was nominated for Scent of a Woman and Glengarry Glen Ross, both in 1992. He won the Best Actor award for his performance as Frank Slade.

His most famous roles include: Michael Corleone in The Godfather Trilogy, Sonny Wortzik in Dog Day Afternoon, Tony Montana in Scarface, Ricky Roma in Glengarry Glen Ross, Lieutenant Colonel Frank Slade in Scent of a Woman, Carlito Brigante in Carlito's Way.
