About James Tomkins
Representing Australia in Rowing, James Tomkins first rose to fame as a member of the "Oarsome Foursome", the coxless four team that burst into the Australian conscience with their gold medal win at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. The team comprised Tomkins alongside Nick Green, Mike McKay, and Andrew Cooper. The team went on to win the gold medal again at the 1996 Olympics. In 2004 Tomkins again won Gold, this time in the coxless pairs event.
Tomkins has also been involved in rowing success in the form of World Championship wins, Commonwealth Games medals and King's Cups - both with and without the original Oarsome Foursome members. His impressive resume includes:
