About Neighbours
Premiering in 1985, Neighbours is one of the longest running Australian soap operas still on the air. It was created by Reg Watson, and is produced by the Reg Grundy Organisation.
Set in the suburb of Erinsborough, it follows the lives of the residents of Ramsay Street. Over the years, many of Australia's most successful actors & singers have got their start on Neighbours. Such people include: Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Guy Pearce, Jesse Spencer, Russell Crowe (a brief guest appearance), Natalie Imbruglia, Holly Valance, Mark Little, Radha Mitchell, Delta Goodrem and Peter O'Brien.
The series is wildly popular in the UK, where it screens on BBC One, attracting a regular audience of between 5 and 6 million people.
Neighbours celebrated it's twentieth anniversary in 2005 with a special episode for which many former cast members returned for special guest appearances.
