Chairs for Charity proudly supports
Make-A-Wish Australia® grants cherished wishes to children and young people with life-threatening illnesses.
Make-A-Wish Australia was established in the United States in 1980 and Make-A-Wish Australia began wish granting in 1985. Many thousands of wishes have since been granted all over the world.
The Foundation is present is more than 32 countries and has granted 16,000 wishes worldwide in 2004 alone.
'Wish children' are between the ages of 4 and 18 years and live with life-threatening illnesses. Doctors, health professionals or parents apply to the Foundation to grant a wish to a child they know. Foundation volunteers then visit eligible children and ask them to reach into their imaginations to think of their one cherished wish.
A team of local "volunteer" wish fairies creates a magical wish granting ceremony creating special memories for the wish children and their families.

The ultimate goal of the National Breast Cancer Foundation's is to raise enough money to fund a cure for breast cancer.
As Australia's leading national not-for profit organisation established to fund all forms of research into the prevention and cure of breast cancer, we have a responsibility to ensure that the funds you work so hard to raise are used in the best possible way as we move towards making our goal a reality.
Over the past ten years, the NBCF research programs have built a reputation of prestige and excellence through their rigorous peer-review processes that consider the projects quality, feasibility and relevance to breast cancer.
The NBCF is unique in its research funding as it is the only community organisation that awards funds specifically for research across the continuum of breast cancer - from genetics to treatment, to support and palliative care. Funds raised are directed to the best research in Australia – we are neither limited by state boundaries nor institutional policies. We have no vested interest other than ensuring we progress knowledge about breast cancer.
